Second-year Rams defensive end Robert Quinn, expected to be a frontline contributor in 2012, was arrested on drunk driving charges in mid-July, according to KSDK. It is reported that Quinn was pulled over and arrested on July 10 in Florissant, a northeast suburb of St. Louis. He was arrested for DWI (driving while intoxicated) and two other outstanding traffic charges, and was released later in the evening. A police source confirmed Quinn’s arrest was routine, and that the North Carolina product fully cooperated with on-duty officers at the time.
Rams sources have confirmed the Quinn arrest and will release a statement later today.
The 14th overall pick in 2011 got off to a slow start ,but earned playing time as last season progressed He flashed adequate play as a defensive end, but excelled on special teams with several blocked kicks. Head coach Jeff Fisher and the Rams have high hopes for Quinn, and running back Steven Jackson has gone so far to say that he feels Quinn will be the squad’s most improved player in 2012.
