Rams practice on Thursday attracted several more media members, and while standing at practice you could feel the enthusiasm and excitement building among players and coaches. With three days remaining, the players sense the task at hand with their opponent, the New England Patriots, coming to town on Friday.

In the London dairies I have talked about the players’ jet lag, the business trip mentality, and the Rams practicing in London while the Pats did their preparation in Boston. We have not talked about injuries to key Rams’ players that might affect the depth at positions and on special teams as well.

Danny Amendola WR Shoulder Limited – Taking the helmet away from this player would be a smart idea, or he just might find his way onto the field. Its 50/50 Amendola will get a uniform, most likely will be ready for 49ers game after the bye week.

Coach Fisher on Amendola’s status “He practiced better today. He was limited, but he practiced better today. We’ll have to wait and see how the week goes on. Coach was then asked about Amendola competitiveness and the struggles to keep him off the field and Fisher replied “Yes. Danny, immediately after the injury, wanted to go back on the field. He’s a competitor and he loves to play and we can’t wait to get him back.”

Mario Haggan LB Thigh Limited – Deep thigh bruise is getting better and would help on special teams and depth, a game time decision.

Wayne Hunter OT Back DNP – Did not participate the last two days and will miss another game, bye week will give Hunter three weeks to heal up for the 49ers.

Eugene Sims DE Knee DNP – Did not participate this week, knee injury vs. Packers my put him on the shelf for several more weeks.

Rodger Saffold OT Knee DNP – Has not participated for several weeks and wont this week either, 49ers is his target week or a few weeks past that game

Mike McNeill TE Knee Limited – Showed up for the first time on Thursday’s injury report. If unable to participate hurts special teams and depth at TE.

Injuries always play a part in a coach’s decision on which 46 players receive a jersey in order to compete on game day and give them the best chance to win. This game has a chance to be an extremely competitive contest with the #1 Offense of the Patriots against the Rams 10th ranked defense. Countdown to 2012 International Series game is 72 hours away.
