Like every NFL weekend, there are intriguing story lines and the 2013 Championship Sunday is no different. The NFC Championship Game will be the battle of the quarterbacks, the 49ers’ Colin Kaepernick vs. the Falcons’ Matt “Mattural” Ryan. Or the game could be decided by which defense has the best tactical and strategic game plan and who makes the best in game and halftime adjustments.
When looking at the AFC Championship game, who will the game flow through? The Ravens’ explosive running game featuring Ray Rice or quarterback Joe Flacco, who has found his deep ball accuracy and big play heroics? Can Tom Brady, two time Super Bowl MVP lead his team to another Super Bowl, or will this be the swan song for one of the greatest three down linebacker to ever play the game in Ray Lewis?
Both games will come down to defense, execution, turnovers and which teams play the best for 60 minutes. The teams that handle both pressure and adversity and deliver the big play when the game is on the line will win.
Baltimore @ New England = Patriots
San Francisco @ Atlanta = 49ers
I’m not a professional odds maker. Please, please don’t bet the farm or mortgage the house on the above information, even though I’m 6-2 through the Divisional Playoffs heading into Championship Sunday Weekend. I pick games straight-up, concentrating on NFL team rankings both offensively and defensively, current injuries, overall statistics, schemes, 53 man roster personnel and I evaluate a lot of film.
