The Washington Huskies rode the back of their defense all season long and the PAC 12 conference championship game was no different. The old cliche defense wins championships was on full display Friday night in Santa Clara at Levi’s Stadium. The winningest quarterback in PAC12 history Washington’s Jake Browning was not having his best game, so the Jimmy Lake defense delivered in a big way.
But the storyline was not all about the Husky defense, Utah came ready to play as well. I sat on my couch watching two college teams trading punches while playing a defensive chess match and I enjoyed every minute, while the Huskies (#10) defeated Utah (#17).
For the Huskies the win gave them their second PAC12 championship in the last three years, they will play the Big Ten conference champions in the Rose Bowl on New Year Day. For Husky fans, its time to travel south to Pasadena, California and smell some Roses!
